The Project - Jewels of Campania
A Strategic Vision for the Internationalization of
Campania’s Goldsmith – Jewelry Sector
Jewels of Campania is a system initiative conceived and supported by the Campania Region, through the Directorate-General for Economic Development and Productive Activities, within the programme to enhance and promote regional centres of manufacturing excellence and Made in Campania. Operational delivery is entrusted to Sviluppo Campania S.p.A. The project takes the form of an international incoming mission centred on two B2B days on 12 and 13 November 2025 at the Il Tarì Goldsmith Centre in Marcianise, with complementary institutional and territorial promotion in Naples.
The production context: heritage as competitive advantage
Campania’s goldsmith sector is rooted in a millenary tradition that has evolved while preserving a distinctive identity. Mastery in gold and silver work, the art of the cameo and coral craftsmanship positions Campania as Italy’s third hub for jewellery, with an aggregate sector that operates as a proto-industrial district. Three production systems characterise the territory: Marcianise (Il Tarì), Torre del Greco (global capital of coral and cameos) and Naples (where tradition meets contemporary design).
Key figures. The region ranks fifth in Italy by number of enterprises and seventh by export value, with €36.1 million and 5% export growth recorded in the last quarter of 2023. The retail network counts over 1,400 points of sale, equal to 15% of the national total.
The D.OR. Campania Consortium: an aggregation model for competitiveness
Established with decisive support from the Campania Region, the D.OR. Campania Consortium unites Il Tarì scpa, Oromare Promogest srl and the Consorzio Antico Borgo Orefici, together with Confindustria Caserta, Federpreziosi Campania Confcommercio and Assocoral. It is not only a representative body but also an operational tool that pools competencies and resources across the value chain, combining the preservation of territorial and product specificities with the critical mass and coordinated proposition required in international markets.
Event architecture: methodology and objectives
The mission prioritises the quality of commercial relations over the quantity of meetings. Thirty buyers are selected from seven strategic European markets (Spain, France, Greece, Germany, Austria, Denmark and Benelux) using rigorous criteria that consider purchasing potential and compatibility with Campania’s products, including appreciation of Italian design, focus on craftsmanship, established market presence and experience managing imports from Italy. In parallel, fifty Campania companies are admitted through an expression of interest based on eligibility and international readiness, including an operational base in Campania, English-language catalogues, direct jewellery production and documented participation in international trade fairs.
A programme that goes beyond business to business
Across 12 and 13 November 2025, companies and buyers meet in a professional B2B setting at Il Tarì. Alongside the meetings, targeted cultural and institutional moments help international counterparts understand the historical and creative context that inspires contemporary collections. Optional production-site visits may be organised to highlight artisanal mastery and manufacturing processes that define Made in Campania. Detailed daily scheduling will be provided in a separate downloadable document.
The digital platform: amplification and continuity
An English-language multimedia catalogue and showcase website extends the impact of the mission before, during and after the event. It includes approximately sixty company pages, each with a concise profile, optional contacts and a gallery of at least twenty product images, with the option to add multimedia materials.
A system perspective for the future
Jewels of Campania is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the international positioning of the regional goldsmith and jewellery sector. The initiative lays the groundwork for lasting commercial relationships and reinforces recognition of the Campania district as a European centre of excellence. Collaboration with Il Tarì, which makes its facilities available free of charge and contributes nearly thirty years of organisational know-how, demonstrates the territory’s ability to act cohesively around shared strategic goals. The Campania Region’s investment reflects the awareness that this sector, which unites tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and industry, territorial identity and international vocation, is a strategic asset for regional economic development.
